SPS Member Survey: Human Tissue in Safety Assessment (2017)

Add   Membership.png

SPS Members,

The NC3Rs and the Safety Pharmacology Society have previously conducted a survey into the use of human tissue in safety pharmacology. The survey results demonstrated the barriers to development, adoption and wider uptake of human tissue models as well as providing examples of potential solutions. We are following this up with a new survey three years on, to assess progress in this area.

Directed at companies carrying out safety assessment of drugs or chemicals, the aim of the survey is to:

  • Assess the implementation of human tissue use in safety assessment;
  • Identify further opportunities for sharing/learning of experiences.
  • Identify the remaining barriers to development and adoption of these models;

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Every reply is vital, so please get involved in this important exercise. Preliminary data was shared and discussed at the SPS/NC3Rs Human Tissue in Safety Assessment workshop on May 3, 2017 and will be submitted for poster presentation or publication at a later date.

Follow the link to access the survey.
