A Practical Review of Cardiovascular Physiology, Pharmacology and Safety
April 3–May 29, 2018
Live Webinar Series
Having a thorough understanding of the fundamental physiological processes of the cardiovascular system can be crucial for the drug development scientist. Knowledge of the physiological regulation of the cardiovascular system and how it works will provide a key foundation when moving drug discovery projects forward. In addition, the ability to discuss cardiovascular receptor pharmacology and identify the actions of various pharmacological classes of drugs associated with therapeutic management of different diseases can be a vital skill for the drug development scientist. Awareness of potential pitfalls in this area can prevent costly dead-ends in projects when time is of the essence.
This weekly webinar-based course will provide pharmacological strategies for the management and correction of cardiovascular diseases, as well as address safety issues associated with drugs affecting the cardiovascular system.
This course will provide you a “toolbox” that will allow you to avoid common pitfalls and make smart decisions based on proven science. The purpose of this 8-week program is to provide the learner with a basic review of the fundamental physiological processes of the cardiovascular system and pharmacological strategies for management or correction of cardiovascular diseases. It will also address safety issues associated with drugs affecting the cardiovascular system.
The webinars are recorded and available for review if you are unable to attend the live presentation. Additionally, prerecorded lectures are available on demand for additional classroom training each week. Numerous case studies are presented offering you a chance to learn what works and what doesn’t before you are placed in a similar situation. You may take this course from your lab, office or wherever is convenient. This blended course is equivalent to a two-and-a-half-day live classroom experience.
