In 2013, the Safety Pharmacology Society launched a certification in the field of safety pharmacology. The Diplomate of the Safety Pharmacology Society (DSPS) was an initiative created in response to an SPS membership survey which revealed a need for a certification exam in Safety Pharmacology - a distinct scientific discipline that integrates the best practices of pharmacology, physiology, and toxicology. The DSPS also emerged as a need identified by SPS working groups including representatives from Industry, Academia and Regulatory Agencies. The DSPS promotes excellence in the field of Safety Pharmacology and encompasses a wide range of scientific areas related to drug discovery and development as detailed on the DSPS website (http://www.safetypharmacology.org/diplomate.asp).
During this webinar, the 2014 DSPS committee will present the overall process from preparation of the annual examination to the actual day of the test and also discuss the procedures in place for continuous improvement of examination content.
We are looking forward to this opportunity to introduce the Diplomate of the Safety Pharmacology Society in preparation for the next examination which will take place at the 2014 SPS Annual Meeting in Washington DC, USA.
